Super Supporter
Imagine what a loved one would say.
Welcome, students!
Tell me how you feel today, using punctuation. For example, “I feel like an exclamation point today because I’m excited.” Or “I’m a little unsure of myself today, so I feel like a question mark.”
Think about someone in your life who’s always by your side and rooting for you—a super supporter.
This is a person you trust and who has always accepted you for who you are. Perhaps this individual is a coach, teacher, family member, or best friend.
Picture this person in your head.
Now, imagine what this person would say if you told them that you were having a tough time. How would they comfort or guide you through the difficult experience?
Open your journal and spend a few minutes writing down exactly what this person would tell you. And next time you’re faced with something difficult, think about the words of encouragement that you wrote down.
Nice work! Now it's time to reflect.
The words from your super supporters might benefit more than just you. Does anyone want to read some of the words that they jotted down?
I’d like to write these on the board for us all to appreciate.
